"square graphic with the SWOPLA logo in the bottom left corner text reads: June 2 is International Whores’ Day On June 2, 1975, over 100 prostitutes occupied the Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon to draw attention to their inhumane working conditions and treatment. International Whores’ Day honors their struggle, as well as the struggles of sex workers today as we continue to fight exploitation, criminalization, and stigma. What does International Whores’ Day mean to you?"
About International Whore’s Day

In conjunction with the release of our debut zine issue, we are throwing a virtual event on the evening of June 2nd to celebrate its launch!  We are currently seeking allies and sponsors to help us fund this event.  All donations would go towards paying our majority BIPOC performers a fair stipend. Thanks in advance for standing in solidarity with our community!
