Vision For LA: A Discussion with Local Candidates About a Future Without Criminalization

Join SWOPLA and local candidates this Saturday, May 28th as speakers weave together a vision of Los Angeles without criminalization and the city we could live in if we chose to invest in community care. We’re bringing together sex workers and candidates for various local political offices to discuss what a future without criminalization could look like for everyone.

There will be no discussion of criminalization, surveillance, or other carceral "solutions" SWOPLA logo in the bottom left corner

For the past two years, SWOPLA has worked with sex workers and activists to delve deep into the roots of racial and gender injustice and identify the actions we can take to transform our communities. We will be asking the candidates questions created and selected by sex workers and sex worker-organizers and hope to inspire some creative and visionary thinking.

Join us for an evening of engaging discussions where local candidates and SWOP LA folks dream out what a decriminalized Los Angeles would look like.

Let us know which topics we should discuss!

We have a survey for LA based SWers to share their thoughts, questions, and what topics are important to them that we shouldn’t miss in our conversation with candidates.

You can find the survey here and at bit.ly/visionforLA

The event will be held in The Robinson S.P.A.C.E. from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, including a reception with light refreshments to follow the panel. Attendees will be required to wear masks.
