SW vs. Trafficking

Conflating trafficking with SW isn’t protection — it’s misinformation.

We’ve been seeing a surge of media and social posts that blur the line between trafficking and SW— and it’s time to set the record straight.

When trafficking and SW are blurred together, policies are often built on fear rather than facts. Countless laws and initiatives have been introduced under the guise of “protecting women and children,” yet in practice, they frequently increase surveillance, criminalization, and stigma — stripping agency, safety, and resources from the very communities they claim to protect.

Effective policy must be grounded in evidence, human rights, and the lived experiences of those most impacted. Protection should never come at the cost of autonomy. https://ift.tt/JaldFRi
