We are hiring a Stroll Coordinator

Payment: $200/stroll ($400/month for ~9hrs a month).

Time commitment: Part-time (5hrs every other week) start date beginning of November.

Location: In-person in Los Angeles (location varies but generally South Central, Hollywood, Western, or DTLA)

Program Overview:  SWOPLA hosts a harm-reduction outreach event every other week. We all gather in one car to pass out pre-made bags of condoms, lube, snacks, cash aid, and other goodies. We pass these out to street-based workers in South Central, Hollywood, Western, or DTLA.

Job Summary: The stroll coordinator is responsible for communicating with SWOPLA members to pick a date and time for the bi-weekly stroll, ensuring that we have the supplies we need, and joining the biweekly outreach. All supplies are provided by SWOPLA, this often requires gathering our supplies from the storage unit, going by the bank, and/or notifying the steering committee when bags or other supplies like business cards are low.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Experience working in a support or advocacy role, particularly with sex workers or other criminalized populations, is highly desirable.
  • Current or former street-based sex work experience highly preferred.

Skills and abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Should have strong administrative skills.
