Hiring: MSW Intern Coordinator (Part-time)
Payment: $33.33/ hr
Time commitment: Estimated 5-10hrs a week, max of 10hrs a week
Position is hybrid with a requirement that the applicant be based out of Los Angeles for at least ¾ of the year.
Start date: Position is active during the academic year (Sept 2026-June 2027) but if it’s a strong fit, we may start June 2026. The position is open to renewal.
SWOPLA is hiring an MSW Intern Coordinator to support our longstanding MSW/MPH internship program. We currently host 1-2 graduate student interns a year to support our services (e.g. case management, volunteer coordination, sex work 101 educational workshops). Our intern coordinator is required to meet with the interns once a week for an hour, but frequent communication outside of this period is likely. Interns are required to work 20hrs a week. Internship days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the academic year.
Requirements:
- Experience managing graduate students, ideally student interns
- Some familiarity with SWOPLA Services (or familiarity with Los Angeles Resources)
- 5-10 hours a week of availability to supervise with Intern (internship days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Based in Los Angeles County (this is a hybrid role but we do require someone based in Los Angeles)
- Excellent communication skills and time management
Preferred qualifications:
- MSW degree from an Accredited University
- Lived experience in the sex trade
- Access to a vehicle
